From Educator to Founder: How Puzzles Came to Be

At the heart of every meaningful journey is a moment that sparks change. Reflecting on purpose, passion, and the path to creating something that truly matters, here is how Puzzles came to be!

Puzzles was created in response to the need from families seeking inclusive activities for their children with varying levels of support and needs. With over 10 years as an educator, I spent a great deal of time hearing from families about how their children were not welcomed at other centers due to medical or physical disabilities. After consistently hearing about the challenges families were facing, I decided it was time to do something about it!

When I first began brainstorming about Puzzles, it was on post-it paper with Mr. Sketch markers. I started jotting down ideas of what I envisioned in an inclusive center. At the time, I had 4-month old twins, and I spent so much time figuring out the best ways to have these ideas come to life. Although I knew I had a long road ahead, I was so eager and excited to create a center that would make a true impact on the lives of families and their children.

After waiting 18 months to open due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Puzzles finally opened its doors In July 2021. As challenging as it was to navigate those difficult circumstances, I couldn't let my dream of this center fade away. Ideas that come from the heart must have outcomes that are believed in. 80 years from now, I envision myself looking back at my life and reflecting on my effort to bring this world closer. No matter how small or big the change, it will always be worth it. Fortunately, I have a few decades until 80, and I can enjoy the process!

The mission of Puzzles is dedicated to driving a new generation of love, inclusion, kindness, and acceptance. Puzzles is here to welcome you, support you, and dedicate our time to ensuring that your child is embraced exactly as they are! We are so happy to have you here.
